NAMSS Conference Session Snapshot: How to Effectively Manage Distributed Teams
by Tiffany A. Long, CPCS, CPMSM, FMSP
Socrates said, “The secret to change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” 2020 has been a challenging year full of change. Medical Staff Professionals have been tasked with developing new and creative solutions to ensure our hospitals are staffed with a sufficient number of qualified healthcare professionals to see and treat our patients. The COVID 19 pandemic has forced MSPs to do what we do best, think on our feet and adapt! Because of social distancing many of us found ourselves for the first time working from home and managing our teams from a distance. While there are many advantages to distributed teams, there are some cons as well. In order to succeed we must adapt our way of thinking and how we manage people. Special consideration has to be paid to how we measure success and productivity. Additionally, we need to implement technology to help us engage employees, enhance communication and measure productivity. This session will explore different software solutions that will improve communications and keep a close eye on productivity measures. With the right tools in our toolbox we can have high performing distributed teams.
Be sure to register for the NAMSS 44th Educational Virtual Conference and Exhibition to attend this amazing session and many more!
