CAIR-AZ, Others Join Lawsuit Against Phoenix Children's Hospital for Firing Doctor Over Anti-Israel Facebook Post
by Arizona Republic
The Council on American-Islamic Relations' (CAIR's) Arizona chapter, along with several law firms, are representing a physician after she was fired from Phoenix Children's Hospital following a Facebook post condemning Israel and accusing Zionists of having a "thirst to kill our Palestinian children." Dr. Fidaa Wishah's Facebook post said Palestinians would "expose the #massacre and #genocide you #zionists are proud of." Phoenix Children's Hospital responded with a statement that children in its care receive "the best possible health care regardless of race, color, disability, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or national origin. After a thorough review of the facts related to this matter, this individual is no longer providing care at Phoenix Children's." Azza Abuseif, executive director of CAIR in Arizona, confirmed in a written response that CAIR and several private law firms are representing Wishah in a wrongful termination case against the hospital. Abuseif called the hospital's decision to fire Wishah "shameful and an attack on freedom of speech for all Americans."
