TJC Resumes Unannounced, Onsite Surveys
The Joint Commission’s (TJC) accreditation survey teams resumed unannounced, on-site surveys on March 15 for areas that are at low risk for COVID-19. TJC will prioritize sites with past-due accreditation schedules, which will maintain their existing accreditation until TJC can conduct a new survey. At this time, TJC is not performing unannounced on-site surveys for freestanding Behavioral Health Care and Human Services facilities.
Accreditation survey teams will follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 guidelines when on-site. If COVID-19 risk levels are too high in certain areas, TJC will contact the organizations in those areas to assess the feasibility of initial off-site/virtual surveys. Organizations with extenuating circumstances that prevent them from participating in a survey at this time should contact their TJC account executives.
TJC to Host a Webinar on COVID-19 and Accreditation
On Thursday, April 29, 2021, TJC will host a complimentary webinar on COVID-19 for Hospital Accreditation. The webinar will be 90-minute Q & A information session. Registration is now open through the TJC.
