Romeo Man Sues Rochester-Based Doctor Over Alleged Colonoscopy Mistake
by Oakland Press
Roderick Arnold of Romeo, Mich., says he had to have his entire colon removed because a doctor and other defendants mistakenly lost track of the location of a cancerous polyp. The 67-year-old is suing Dr. Kambiz Bral, Rochester Endoscopy and Surgery Center, North Oakland Gastroenterology Clinic, and Oakland Digestive Health in Oakland County Circuit Court. The removal of his colon has significantly altered Arnold's life because he has virtually no control of his bowels and experiences severe nausea and frequent cramping, his lawyers say. He must wear an adult diaper and time his eating habits with outings. "He deals with embarrassment and inconvenience everyday as a result of this very preventable mistake," asserts attorney Brian McKeen. "It's an egregious act of malpractice." Arnold has had to give up his occupation as a musician and music teacher because of his condition, his legal team said.
