Former New Jersey Hospital Employee Claims She Was Fired for Ending Relationship With CEO
by Becker’s Hospital Review
Serafima Isachenko, a former employee of Hudson Regional Hospital in New Jersey, has filed a lawsuit against the facility and its CEO, alleging she was fired for breaking off her seven-month relationship with him. The 30-year-old former ultrasound technician filed the lawsuit in Hudson County Superior Court. The suit says Isachenko was fired in June "over an alleged incident involving an ultrasound." It claims that other employees involved were not fired over the incident — the details of which were not disclosed — and Isachenko was singled out because she had recently ended a relationship with Hudson Regional Hospital President and CEO Dr. Nizar Kifaieh. The lawsuit seeks various damages due to the hospital's failure to enforce its anti-harassment policy. Hudson Regional has retained outside counsel to conduct a review of the allegations. It's unclear if Kifaieh will stay in his position during the review.
