The latest Doctor.com study, titled "Telemedicine Adoption in the Age of COVID-19 and Beyond," shows vast patient adoption of telemedicine during the current healthcare climate along with the need for fast, easy, and secure telehealth services in the years ahead. Researchers polled more than 1,800 adults and found that the majority (83%) will likely use telemedicine even after the COVID-19 crisis ends. Meanwhile, 55% said they are willing to use telemedicine to see new physicians, and 69% said that "easy-to-use technology" would help them decide to make a telehealth appointment. Based on the study's results, it's clear that telemedicine can help bridge the murky "reopening" phase. Doctor.com CEO Andrei Zimiles comments, "As telemedicine becomes part of a 'new normal,' it is critical that providers begin shifting their long-term care strategies to incorporate virtual care and meet patients' rapidly evolving expectations for this channel."
