Fired Doctor Charged in Ruby Memorial Hospital Hidden Camera Investigation

In West Virginia, the Morgantown Police Department has issued a warrant for the arrest of Dr. Lance Parks, a suspect in the investigation into two cameras recently found in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital bathrooms. Parks is charged with eight misdemeanor counts of criminal invasion of privacy and one felony count of distribution and exhibiting computer-generated child pornography. Hospital staffers found a digital recording device hidden beneath a sink inside a staff restroom last month. The employees notified police, and the device was turned over to investigators. Detectives then used data from the device to determine it was Parks who placed it there and that it contained video footage of eight hospital employees who had been unknowingly recorded while partially nude. All eight workers have been notified. Later, when attempting to fix a clogged pipe at the hospital, personnel discovered a second recording device in a toilet in a non-public restroom. That device was also turned over to authorities, who found it contained no images or media. Investigators uncovered additional evidence during a search of Parks' residence, including images of juvenile females that appear to have been downloaded from publicly available social media. Some of those images have been manipulated via artificial intelligence to alter the original photos so they show the juveniles as fully nude.
