A Special Message From 2022 Conference Committee Chair Brianna Foulkrod
By Brianna Foulkrod
Only a couple more weeks until NAMSS 46th Educational Conference & Exhibition! I am so honored to serve as the 2022 Conference Committee Chair. The Conference Committee has been so busy planning an excellent event for all MSP®s, but most of all, we are looking forward to seeing you all in person – finally! To hear the stories we have to share, the updates from your lives, how you’ve evolved, and experience it all face to face! Like our president-elect, Michelle Stultz has said – we’re going to be like kids in a candy store! Over the last two and half years, we have all forged forward as the gatekeepers of patient safety through education and advocacy efforts, but now our membership is coming together to network and learn from each other in person. I think that I can speak for most of us when I say that we have been through so much and the chance to see each of you is warmly welcomed. There are so many things to look forward to in Nashville, including a rockstar keynote and celebrity drummer, Mark Schulman, excellent speakers, top-tier education, networking with experts, excellent vendors, a heartfelt endnote speaker, and great events to make your time in Music City memorable! You can expect to hear from industry experts about legal updates, regulatory compliance, provider enrollment, peer review, systemization, operations, and professional development. There’s something for everyone at every season in their career journey.
Come early and stay late and enjoy all of the things that Nashville, the Music City, has to offer. Steps from the hotel are so many local eats and drinks that you don’t want to miss. Check out the Grand Old Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Gaylord Opryland Resort and take lots of pictures (then please share them with me!). Be sure put on your boots and your best outfits to make your way to downtown (or “The District”) and visit all the honky-tonks with live music and local flair. If outdoors is your cup of tea, check out the local ghost city tours, Cumberland Caverns, or Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. However you choose to spend your extra time in Nashville, I know it will be a trip to remember.
The Conference Committee, NAMSS Staff, and the NAMSS Board of Directors are looking forward to welcoming you all very soon. Be sure to connect with MSP®s you’ve never met before and make this conference unforgettable. Pack your cowboy boots, your fringe shirts, and bring your best foot forward. See you in Music City!
